The building of traditional Beavertail snowshoes made from birch with cherry cross pieces. The birch was collected in autumn via canoe out to an island, the cherry was collected by snowshoe in the winter.
The wood is then shaped to size by hand with a crooked knife, steam bent & filled during one amazing, deep snow winter in beautiful Labrador. With many thanks to our friends & mentors in this fine craft Howard & Joe!
